The town of Braselton is unusual in that it rests inside of four counties. It is only fitting that Rivermoore Landscape Group has a prominent foothold in this connecting town, as we also service people from many cities in multiple counties. This exponentially growing town is on the rise. Its new influx of residents and business owners will need true professionals to handle their lawns and landscapes to maximize the potential value of their properties. Rivermoore Landscape Group looks forward to continuing to grow just as this town does – organically, and on our merit as the best lawn services company in the area.
The founding of this town was born out of a marriage. William Harrison Braselton married the daughter of a rich plantation owner, Susan Hosch, from the neighboring town of Hoschton. After the two wed, they bought 800 acres of land. Today, Braselton shares a zip code with Hoschton. It was not long before their own farm began to thrive, with other settlers moving in and starting their own agriculture. During the 1870s, trade of these crops began to pick up, and a decade later, the economy began to diversify with the building of the town’s first general store. This enterprise expanded into a chain of four stores after the turn of the 20th century.
Braselton became officially incorporated as a town in 1916. Since then, it has grown in area, and during the last two and a half decades, it has exploded in population. Today, the town covers 12.5 square miles, 0.1 of which is water. As of the 2010 census, it has an official population of 7,511, and a 2015 estimate reported 9,476. Since the 1990 census, the town has grown over 22.5 times its size.
Braselton does not have its own independent school district. Its public school children attend Gwinnett County School District or Barrow County School District, depending on their location within the town.
Business and Economy
As its population growth signifies, Braselton has been undergoing tremendous redevelopment and new growth. New shops and restaurants will be installed in the not too distant future. As of today, the vast majority of businesses in the town are locally owned enterprises – restaurants, service-based companies similar to Rivermoore Landscape Group, and others such as attorneys, gift shops, and retail.
Braselton was awarded the status of “City Showcase” by the National League of Cities, as well as Georgia Trend’s “Trendsetter Award” for the strides that have been made in advancing the economic development of this town.
Recreation and Attractions
The largest, and most diverse attraction in Braselton is undoubtedly Chateau Elan. It is a complete resort featuring a winery, spa, championship golf course, inn, and upscale dining options. A list of delectable cuisine is available at the guests’ disposal. There are conference rooms in the inn to cater to business getaways. There are also rooms available for rent for weddings and other personal events. Finally, there is the breathtaking outdoor view of the natural flora, the quality of which can be had on a smaller scale on your own property if you call on Rivermoore Landscape Group.
Road Atlanta is one of the world’s top-ranked road courses for auto and bike racing. Amateur and professional races take place on this site, including Petit Le Mans and Superbike Showdown. It is known for being family friendly.
For the preservation of the town’s history, there is the Shields-Etheridge Heritage Farm, which was founded to preserve the historic buildings on its site. Visitors and residents alike can get an up-close view of the town’s founding.
