Lawn Care Dacula GA | Lawn Service Near Me | Lawn Treatment Service

There is a special connection between Rivermoore Landscape Group and the city of Dacula. Though we are based in the great city of Auburn, in a sense, our business was first born in Dacula. This city is where we acquired our very first customer. As you may have noticed, they certainly were not our last. Our business has grown in Dacula, and its neighboring cities, because we have brought the best in lawn care and plant health care services. We will continue to play an expanding role in the growth of this city for years to come.

The history of this city came in three major phases. There was the original organized settling of the area, which took place in the early 19th century. Around the time of the War of 1812, the area that is now Dacula was settled by people who were traveling in and through an already established nearby community. Individual farms were the base of the loosely constructed settlement, and it established a post office, taking the name of Hoke.

The second phase began in the latter part of the 19th century, with the Seaboard Air Line Railroad building its way in and through the community. The contractors in charge of building the railroad set up camp in the area, and the loose settlement began to grow and become more organized. It was then that it was given its current name, stemming from a mixture of Decatur and Atlanta. Finally, after the turn of the 20th century, the city was formally incorporated in the year 1905. Dr. Samuel Hinton, the owner of the first drug store, was elected its first mayor.

The third phase began in the late 20th century, specifically in the 1970s, when Dacula began to noticeably develop and grow. Having been a remote, rural community for over a century, Dacula has grown noticeably into a small suburban community, with a small downtown area. Today, it encompasses 4.99 square miles, with only 0.03 of that being water. In the 2010 census, the city reported a population of 4,442, with a 2015 estimate of 5,330. It has grown nearly sevenfold since the 1970 census.

Despite its growth, Dacula does not operate their own independent school system. Their public school children attend Gwinnett County Public Schools, which is the largest school system in the state of Georgia.

Business and Economy
Coming a long way from being a remote location up until 40 years ago, Dacula is now growing quickly. This growth is extending to the unincorporated areas outside of the city. Only 1.5 percent of the population within the borders are below the poverty line, owing to the boom of new businesses. To date, they consist overwhelmingly of individual and family owned small businesses just like Rivermoore Landscape Group. There is a decent selection of restaurants and cuisines, clothing and grocery stores, and service based businesses.

Recreation and Attractions
In terms of recreation, Dacula is known for its beautiful parks, which vary quite a bit in size. One of the highest profile parks is Dacula Park. It is a public park that features many little league sports, and has a high level of activity. There is a football and a multi-sport field, seven baseball/softball fields, a sand volleyball court, children’s playgrounds, a pond, and the popular outdoor city pool. Its amenities include a pavilion, bathrooms, a grill, and a walking trail. The park also contains the Dacula Activity Building, which has rooms available for rent to host events and classes, as well as a main community room, and tennis courts.
